by Sean Kelly on April 30th, 2007

SearchPath International is an interesting new executive franchise opportunity in the “talent acquisition” sector. I just learned about it when it was nominated for Top New Franchise honors at TopNewFranchises.com.

Check out the release, issued today:

SparX Human Capital Opens SPI’s 40th Office

New franchise expands SPI’s talent acquisition professional services to the U.S. power industry

CLEVELAND, April 30, 2007 – Peter and Doreen Reck, of Chardon, Ohio, opened the 40th franchise office of SearchPath International, a Cleveland-based franchisor of talent acquisition professional services firms, CEO Thomas K. Johnston announced today. The office will operate as SparX Human Capital Services, Inc., and will focus in placing key management, engineering and other professionals in the Electric Power and Engineering Procurement Construction industries.

“After an extensive due diligence of independent, split-network, and the franchised executive recruiting markets, SPI became our clear choice for the foundation of our business plan and vision,” said Peter Reck. “We found no other franchisor’s program as flexible, yet as comprehensive and dedicated to success of both our business and our future clients, leveraging the extensive resources available to us via the SPI University, the SPI company network, and the SPI central services team in Cleveland.”

Peter Reck leverages 30 years in the process and electric power markets with diverse experience in plant design engineering, technology consulting, and sales. During his career he has worked with companies such as Bechtel Power Corporation, Jacobus Technologies (acquired by Bentley Systems), PlantCAD Systems, and Pegasus Technologies. As vice president of sales for Pegasus Technologies, he oversaw U.S. sales and marketing for neural network-based, advanced predictive control technologies helping to enable fossil-fired power plant owners to meet both efficiency goals and EPA environmental (CAIR and CAMR) compliance.

“The U.S. electric power industry is entering its most dynamic growth phase in its 125-year history,” said Peter Reck. “The combination of many factors – including a retiring workforce, new generation technologies, environmental issues, expanded transmission, new regulations and increased demand for generation – are all steering the U.S. electric power market into a design-build and staffing cycle of tsunami proportions.”

With 20 years experience in human resource management, Doreen Reck brings experience with a variety of management styles and knowledge of employment practices. She has worked as an office manager, an educator, and on the staff of U.S. Rep. Beverly Byron, D – MD. She has successfully developed and implemented personnel policies, and has been responsible for securing and maintaining qualified talent.

“Peter and Doreen exemplify the caliber of talent that we’re attracting to our platform,” says Johnston. “His track record in business development coupled with his experience, knowledge and network of contacts position SearchPath to be at the forefront of human capital services to the power industry.”

Cleveland-based SearchPath International is the nation’s fastest-growing franchisor of Talent Acquisition Professional Services firms, with 40 offices opened in its first 18 months, and more than 20 other partners committed to new franchises. SPI offers the most aggressive compensation plan in the industry, a revolutionary education platform, world-class technology, recurring revenue opportunities, equity participation and even ownership options. SPI was founded in September, 2005, by Thomas K. Johnston, a nationally-recognized search consultant, specializing in the human capital, staffing, employer services and healthcare industries.
