When I first blogged on the Scoble & Cuppy’s controversy here, on Blue MauMau and on FranBest.Com, I had no idea that this story would gain such widespread attention and controversy. A number of factors converged to make this not only a franchise industry story, and not even just a Java Jo’z and Cuppy’s Coffee story, but a story that raised critical issues involving business communications on the blogosphere, freedom of speech and how to handle unwelcome comments information and/or opinions from bloggers.

Cuppy’s Coffee - Java Jo’z Blog Fiasco Offers Lessons All the Way Around
Scott provides a good overview and focuses on the real value of the discussion: The lessons to be learned all the way around. He states that after reviewing all the initial cached versions of the original posts and comments, that Scoble may have come on too strong and too sudden with his off-the-cuff posts… perhaps another lesson for bloggers. Then again… the firestorm may have helped a good number of people recover at least some of their lost investments

Sean,
I know that this issue has improved my blogging and comments and increased my readership. As for Scoble, he tends to go ‘off the cuff’ alot, just read last weekend series about not linking, that started a storm that has not settled yet.
