Mr. Pickle’s Sandwich Shop

by admin on December 18th, 2006

pickle_guy125.jpgMr. Pickle’s Sandwich Shop is all about great food and next-level service. Their strategy is to serve real meats, unique toppings, San Francisco breads, and their own spectacular garlic sauce to create a sandwich experience that keeps customers returning again and again. CA -based Mr. Pickles is known for the little extras, including warm welcomes and lollipops in every sandwich bag. The husband and wife team behind Mr. Pickles, Frank & Michele Fagundes, hope lots more franchisees love the simple yet efficient format, popular menu, and innovative, franchisee-friendly fee structure. (Not to mention being authorized to don the Mr. Pickle suit on occasion). Learn more at the Mr. Pickles website at mrpicklesinc.com.

I live in San Mateo - and frequent one of the first (if not THE first) Mr. Pickles’ shops - on El Camino Real in San Mateo. Their sandwiches are VERY good - very big and very good. I’m just curious as to how Mr. P’s would translate out of the Bay Area as it has a very ‘SF Peninsula’ feel to it - many of the sandwiches are named after local High School and college mascots and to tell you the truth, it just doesn’t FEEL like a franchise or chain. The San Mateo store is located just a few steps away from a McDonald’s and generally the line is out the door…it’s a very bare-bones operation, small storefront being run by high school kids for the most part…just interesting to see that it’s being touted as a franchise opportunity. I hope the first store doesn’t lose its feeling or taste as a result!
