iSold It eBay Drop-off Store Franchise Opening in Scotland
Widespread store closings, angry franchisees and a seemingly unprofitable business model has forced iSold It, the celebrated leader in the eBay drop-off store franchise segment, to halt all domestic franchise sales. The iSold It franchisee for the U.K. is reportedly insolvent, and the Irish franchisee has ceased expansion.
Seems like the perfect time to expand into a new country.
According to a news item posted The Daily Record, Glasgow (April 25, 2007), “The first Scottish shop will open in Edinburgh’s New Town in a fortnight.”
The article states: “US firm iSold It sell people’s goods on the auction site for commission. All users have to do is hand in the item…. Manager Derek Gilchrist said: ‘People are worried about giving out bank details on the internet.’”
If the tiny article is any indication, the new Edinburgh iSold It does not seem to be receiving much fanfare.
