Intoxicating Franchise Opportunity: The Retail Wine Store
(FranchisePick.Com) Jean Murray at Small Business Boomers referenced a post about WineStyles, a wine franchise I wrote about recently, in her post Wine-making as a business for baby boomers.
I know some of these wine franchise companies got off to a rocky start, but I think the wine store concept has a lot of potential. It’s been a few years since I toured a few of them; perhaps some of you can shed some insight into how they’ve fared in the tough economy.
Here are a few of the wine-related franchises available, along with their own descriptions:
The Grape wine franchise:
THE GRAPE presents to its patrons a non-intimidating and pleasurable atmosphere in which to enjoy great wines and food at reasonable prices. The Grape’s presentation of 120 to 150 deliciously unique wines—available by the bottle, glass and Grapes by the Bunch® tasting flight—is based on its copyrighted Classification Guide, which classifies wine by taste. Our motto is “Your Taste Is All That Counts,” and we practice what we preach by bringing you superb wines from all over the world for you to taste and enjoy.
Rosevine Winery Franchise (formerly “Let’s Make Wine”)
Make your own wine in two visits. The first visit is approximately 25 minutes. During your initial visit, you will select your wine and begin the fermentation process. Our qualified staff will monitor the fermentation of your wine for approximately 45 days. The second visit is approximately 90 minutes (appointment is necessary). You will then be able to personalize each bottle with custom labels and decorative shrink wrap.
Our shops have event rooms which can accommodate up to 35 people. Turn your wine making into a party. Bring your own food in or have us cater your party. Pricing varies.
Vino 100 Wine Franchise:
We developed Vino 100, a different type of wine store. Vino 100 offers our customers a comfortable, affordable and fun way to buy wines. We created a store design that ensures that the wine is the star. Each wine is showcased on its own pedestal accompanied by our unique Vino 100 Wine Barometer™, a graphic, easy-to-understand wine rating and information system. We capture this information in our Wine Palate Computer System, and use it to tailor our marketing efforts to further strengthen our relationship with our customers.
The selection of wines at Vino 100 is based on value. We are constantly searching for those wines which provide the most flavor and expression at the best prices we can find. Forget about looking at scores written by people who do not have any idea what your tastes and preferences might be. It is the interaction between the customer and store personnel, and relationships we establish at Vino 100 which make our stores the place you will want to return to, time and time again.
Winestyles Wine Franchise:
Our store’s concept demystifies the wine buying experience, making life easier for you. We’ve taken the guesswork out of choosing your wine. That’s because we categorize our wines by style…..so, whether you’re bold, crisp or bubbly, you’ll find the wine to suit your individual taste, with a separate section for each style.
Our wine experts carefully select unique labels—many available only at WineStyles—and we specialize in hard-to-find wines from small and large vineyards. We bring these recognizable and boutique wines to you at affordable prices–$10 to $25. WineStyles can special order most wines by the bottle or case—often, with delivery in 24 hours.
Plus, we offer a great selection of wine-related merchandise and gift baskets, which we’ll be happy to customize on the premises.
