Cuppy’s Coffee Franchisees: Show Some Gratitude!

by sean on July 15th, 2008

What’s the fuss about Cuppy’s Coffee? This’ll get you up to speed: CUPPY’S COFFEE, Java Jo’z, Elite Manufacturing, Medina Blogliography

Cuppy’s Coffee franchisees: Enough is enough! There’s been a lot of whining and snivelling around here lately from Cuppy’s Coffee franchisees (or “depositers” as we call them. Or “Involuntary Investors”).

I paid Cuppy’s Coffee $30,000 and they won’t give it back! and I took a home equity loan to give $39,500 for a Cuppy’s Coffee franchise and they won’t give it back! and even I made a $52,000 deposit for a Cuppy’s franchise and they won’t give it back!

And now Supreme Building Technologies is joining the pity party: I did $1.7 million in work building Cuppy’s Coffee franchises and they won’t pay me!

Boo Freakin’ Hoo. Cry me a river of hand-roasted, hand-blended Trail Mix Latte.

Cuppy’s Coffee “depositers,” it’s always about you, isn’t it? When was the last time you stopped to thank Bob Purvin and the AAFD for their tireless work on your behalf? Isn’t is sad that Bob has to point this out FOR you, as he is currently doing in his interview at Blue Mau Mau?

…Cuppy’s was willing to come to market with the fairest contract that we have graded to date. And I hasten to add, given the problems that Cuppy’s has faced, Cuppy’s franchisees have been well protected by an AAFD Accredited Contract. The company has certainly scrambled, but it is meeting its contractual commitments.

If it weren’t for being AAFD Accredited, there would have been no commitments to meet!

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! It’s time you ingrates show some appreciation. You’ve been well protected by an Accredited Contract! Cuppy’s Coffee is meeting its contractual obligations! If it weren’t for Bob,there would BE no commitments to meet!

For shame. Each of you should take the time to thank the AAFD, Bob Purvin and his BFF Best Friend Forever, Cuppy’s Coffee!

In the beginning of “trouble” there is always Internet conversation but when franchisees or prospective franchisees sign on with attorneys, they are told not to post on these sites because it may give the franchisor information that can be used against them, etc..—and/or it may hurt the franchisor who can’t make NEW sales and then won’t be in a position to TRY to deal fairly with them.

This is, of course, why franchisees are so ignorant and don’t really understand what franchising is really about. They don’t understand that public policy protects the franchisor whose SYSTEM feeds the economy. There is hardly any way they are going to win as a matter of public policy, and if they do win, they have to keep quiet about it, as a matter of public policy.

Maybe it is a good sign that no Cuppy’s franchises are out on Franchise Pick saying “thank you” to Sean Kelly. Maybe this means that they are getting settlements and refunds and signing “confidentiality” agreements and they can’t say “thank you” to Sean.

Maybe Dale Nabors can pull it off with his “fair contract” from AAFD if he is given the chance? We know that Dale Nabors of “believe and succeed fame” didn’t buy Cuppy’s to fail.

    Isn’t this true, Sean?

Maybe Elite will declare bankruptcy and all those who weren’t speaking out because they’ve got two years of payments due to them will be as SOL as those with no agreements.

We know that Dale Nabors of “believe and succeed fame” didn’t buy Cuppy’s to fail.

Honestly, I have no idea why Dale Nabors would “buy” Cuppy’s. Perhaps they dosed his latte, or are holding his family hostage in a kiosk somewhere. I’ve left messages for Dale, but he’s out to lunch.

Thanks for the laugh! You should go on tour.
That’s what my wife says. And the sooner the better.

Yes! They must have dosed his latte or he was suffering from self-induced certainty and smugness because ol all of his good work as “Dear Frannie” on Blue Mau Mau.

Looks like it will take more than pretty words and BS messages to bail him out of this current situation. I guess nobody is happy but the attorneys.
