Canadian Ho Invents the $2000 Franchise
Now that Don Imus is out of work, perhaps he’ll become the spokesperson for the Canadian franchise company whose founder is proud to be called a Ho.
Ho Math and Chess™, founded by Taiwanese-Canadian educator Mr. Frank Ho, is an educational franchise that charges just $2000, plus $2000 per year. Ho Math & Chess is a unique supplemental education franchise dedicated to teaching children math using its own proprietary math and chess integrated workbooks. The goal of Ho Math and Chess is to teach math in a way that’s both fun and challenging for kids.
Ho Math & Chess may not win awards for its brand identity - name included - but it sure is scoring high marks from the franchisees, parents and kids involved with the unique franchise program. Read the comments and testimonials they are leaving at franchise review site Top New Franchises.

I started my math and chess franchise in January opening up a center and beginning math classes and tutoring sessions. Frank has been a great help.
An amazing idea.

Ho Math and Chess,” a registered trademark, was founded by a Canadian certified math teacher, Frank Ho, who was inspired by the intriguing relationship between math and chess when he started to teach his son chess at the age of 5. His son later became a FIDE chess master and the youngest Canadian Junior Chess Champion at age 12. After doing research and finding out that no math and chess integrated workbooks were available on the market, Frank decided to take the initative to publish his own workbooks and integrate them into the math curriculum at his learning centre.
Ho Math and Chess is trademarked with Frank’s last name to acknowledge its heritage. “Ho” refers to the story of how and why Ho Math and Chess was started.
“Ho” can be traced to the root of being a Chinese surname but its original pronunciation in Chinese should be more sound like “her” instead of “ho”. There are also many variations of English spelling on this one of the most popular Chinese surnames.
Today, Frank continues to teach students and update the demand-driven workbooks himself, from first-hand feedback. The name “Ho Math and Chess” represents the history, philosophy and vision of the learning centre.

Take a shot at others people’s names or business names or heritage, only to expose how shallow you really are!
Your relatives or friends will be shamed of your comments.

I’m sorry Mr. Ho, honestly didn’t mean to offend.
Not to worry, my family has had a hard time with our given last name as well, so please lighten up Frank, jeez. Don’t take stuff so personal. Sticks and stones and all that blather..
Just to ease your mind, they do think I’m shallow and my family is not the least bit happy with how I turned out!
